One evening at La  Chua Trail at Payne’s Prairie, I was watching some limpkins digging through wetlands vegetation searching for red apple snails.  Then this guy came out into the open showing off his 2-for-1 dinner special, holding two of the invasive mollusks in his long beak.  He then allowed me to watch for about 10 minutes as he worked to crack the shells open and eat the delicious treats inside.  However, I was slightly disappointed that he didn’t offer me a bite.
